I personally couldn't see or couldn't find a counter on cards for resources (microbes, animals, etc...). I find it would be useful either showing them when hovering on the card, or perhaps showing a counter like those on the bar that shows the tags that have been played, number of owned land, exchange rate for steel and titanium, etc...
