When reclaiming discards it is not pulling the most recent discards it's pulling from deep in the deck often multiple curse cards that weren't that close to the top. This game I had the last curse card was over 8 cards back yet I ended up with multiple coming back in the draw pile and into my hand. Has happened on several games. Most noticeable when the reclaim is done near the end of the deck so it's clear what came back.

...After discarding, cut the discard pile and place the bottom half onto the top half without shuffling.
Because of this rule, if the conditions are right, salvaged cards can be reused infinitely.
