Color clues are irrelevant when playing alone. Its just a waste of time to have to give a color clue every turns. Also, I think there should have a clear button to use the marker. A lot of new players ask me how to use the marker. Its not obvious you have to click on the tile before giving a color clue

If the board is stable, there may be more color-room associations than everyone can memorize, and the log can help look up what colors of rooms have been seen before, even in a one player game.
When time permits, it does seem worth experimenting with either removing them for 1 player as you suggest, or making them a per player option (similar to the auto-tool-use options in Stone Age) with the default being either to show them or not show them. If you have input on those options it would be welcome.
In the meantime, there are other bugs to be tackled first, and the look / room color selection experience is at least consistent with multi-player scenarios as it is now.
Thank you for your suggestion.
