First I tried to select the military world I wanted to place. It said "not enough military" so I had to click on the Mercenary Fleet card in my tableau and then select the cards (multiple) in my hand to discard and sacrifice in order to boost the military but...

I wanted to discard two cards for +2 extra military. The first (a non military world) discarded properly but the game automatically took the 2nd card I selected (a military world of low value) as being the card I wanted to place instead of discard. Doubly dumb as it didn't even need extra military for me to place it, I had more than enough anyway. I wanted that card to be thrown away. I couldn't place the card I wanted to play and there is no way to undo the incorrect action once the game has decided that's what it's doing. If you need to click on the Mercenary Fleet card each time to discard make this obvious. The interface appears to want the player to multi-select which cards to discard which is what I did. It would be far more sensible to allow a player to state which card they want to place, and hold that card while they then show they have enough bonus moves/discarding to allow it to be a valid move. Once that is done they can click confirm/undo to finalise the move and show it to their opponents, or else start again.
