Violet Carpenter Bee doesn't help on sycamore -- it should essentially make a new sycamore with all the sycamore's scoring, which is one point per tree, so it should double plus one the number of points of the sycamore it attaches to.
It DOES work on the horse chestnut -- but it does NOT work on the sycamore and it should. (It should also work on oak -- if it effectively creates a second tree of the type it's attached to, then the duplicate oak should score as an oak.) -
