The problem can be solved by telling the player panels to appear above the game log, but I don't believe I should have to make sacrifices to how I like to see this website used on a per game basis because some of them don't work with that setting.

Thanks for the report! I agree this needs to be fixed. I tried to do it a few months ago but wasn't able to fix it. I will have to try again soon!

I'm seeing this too; it fixes itself the instant I resize the window either smaller or larger, but every size of window triggers this bug initially.

I finally got sick of seeing this and decided to report it. It interacts with the zoom, such that zooming in or out will fix it, even though it's not specific zoom setting that are triggering it. Somehow, the zoom that it loads for the default it often broken, and either bigger or smaller is fine.
So if I leave it at 90%, the next time I come back to the game at 90%, it will be broken, and 100% will look fine.
I'll try to pay more attention to exactly how and why it happens, but it happens all the time for me. It is not rare at all.
